Womankind is an NYC-based nonprofit with 40+ years of experience serving pan-Asian immigrant survivors of domestic violence, sexual violence, and human trafficking. Womankind works to create a future where communities can Rise Above Violence and innovate towards collective well-being and restoration. Through community, residential, and special programs, Womankind offers access to emergency residential housing, crisis counseling, case management, legal assistance, healing groups, and more. In addition to promoting healing and safety through direct service work, Womankind provides community education to promote intervention and prevention of violence on individual and institutional levels.

Member Duties : The VISTA member will build capacity within Womankind’s Strategic Partnerships portfolio by supporting relationship building efforts including prospect research, partnership cultivation, event support, grant writing, and preparing materials for external presentations. The VISTA will also support the Associate Director of Strategic Partnerships in the overall partnership development strategy by working across Womankind departments to better understand new trends and gaps, further strengthening internal collaboration. Through this project, we aim to strengthen existing partnerships and secure private funding from corporations and foundations to support Womankind’s overall fundraising strategy. Additionally, we hope to further support programmatic needs through strategic partners, to expand resources for community members.
