UAB AmeriCorps Economic Development VISTA
 
 
 
The UAB AmeriCorps program is a year-long service and leadership program that provides opportunities to create and sustain effective, mutually beneficial collaborations with the Birmingham area and rural communities in the Black Belt region of Alabama. Our VISTA program aligns primarily with economic development, education, food security, and public health. The VISTA program also develops programs designed to address educational inequity and economic initiatives in collaboration with community-based organizations.

Member Duties : The Economic Development VISTA will assist a community partner in enhancing systems that support volunteers. Their role will involve expanding the host site's ability to identify funding opportunities, gather resources, and effectively communicate the impact of economic development initiatives. Additionally, they will work to increase the host site's capacity to build partnerships and provide clear, accessible information about programs and initiatives.
