25-26 Rock Lake Conservation District Field Technician
 
 
 
This is an AmeriCorps/Washington Service Corps national service position. It is contingent on funding and open until filled. The Rock Lake Conservation District is located in the small Eastern Washington community of St. John. The RLCD conducts conservation work in its local communities through environmental restoration, educational outreach, and agricultural technical and financial assistance. We cover the northwestern corner of Whitman County home to nearly 360 agricultural producers and dozens of important waterways. The member will become a key part of the RLCD team as they complete vital field work on riparian restoration projects. They will also participate in community outreach events to connect with individuals interested in conservation, the environment, and agriculture. The majority of service will occur outdoors. The member should be prepared to serve in some inclement weather. Rolling review of applications and interviews will begin in January. Monthly stipend amount: $1,942.

Member Duties : The Field Technician will support our mission by conducting hands on riparian specific fieldwork and supporting community outreach and education. They will complete fieldwork to clean up waterways, eliminate invasive plants, replant native plants, and address erosion; deliver educational workshops on water, agriculture, etc. in schools and the wider community; collaborate with the outreach coordinator to create and distribute outreach materials.
