VISTA Economic Opportunity Program Coordinator - United Way
 
 
 
VISTA expands the ability of sponsor organizations to fight poverty. Rather than providing services to low-income individuals and communities, VISTAs strengthen and support organizations by building infrastructure and researching long-term resources for nonprofits and public agencies to secure. Capacity building activities are intended to support or enhance the program delivery model, respond to the organization’s goal of increasing, expanding or enhancing services in order to address pressing community needs, and enable the organization to provide a sustained level of more or better services after the national service participant’s term of service has ended. VISTA Program Coordinators in our project support for-impact initiatives throughout the region that reduce the impact of poverty on vulnerable communities. VISTAs are hybrid positions that require partial onsite work in Santa Maria, CA. Position in our project will primarily develop the documentation processes, database management, and internal tools that support economic opportunity programming at nonprofits and public agencies aligned to the project.

Member Duties : VISTA members in this project will develop, implement, and sustain tools and processes that make economic opportunity programs at nonprofits and public agencies possible. This will entail supporting organizations with documentation, resource development research, database management, and other capacity building measures. VISTAs will be expected to have or acquire proficiency with administrative tasks, email communication, and generative AI usage.
