UACE The Garden Kitchen PLAZA Mobile Market AmeriCorps

This position will further develop an accessible mobile farmers market, PLAZA (Promoting Local AZ Agriculture) Mobile Market. This position will be active in increasing access to healthy, local foods in Tucson as well as supporting local farmers and the local food system. Join the Garden Kitchen in our mission to ensure that local produce is accessible to all communities while also uplifting small local farmers. This position will support each major piece of the mobile market, from purchasing from farmers to bringing that produce to the community, so it’s a great way to support the Tucson food system at multiple levels. You’ll help facilitate a joyful market for our customers, deepen relationships with our farmers, do outreach and marketing, and support our volunteers. This position is ideal for someone who is passionate about food systems, is a clear, energetic, and warm communicator, and is interested in a physically active role. Members will learn about dignified responses to food insecurity, the Tucson local food system ecosystem and the key players, the realities of being a small-scale farmer, and how to develop community-focused strength-based programming.
