Our vision is to support champions (Ages 14 - 24) on their pathway to greatness. Our mission is to create learning environments for supporting the whole person by way of tutoring, mentoring, and enrichment workshops. Helping champions on their pathway to success in Union County, New Jersey, with an emphasis on Roselle, NJ. Tutor high school students in English, Math, Social Studies, Science, or GED. Mentor students in researching career pathways and applying for college and/or trade programs. BENEFITS: Serve 1,700 hours ($20,400 stipend), 900 hours ($10,800 stipend), or 450 hours ($5,400 stipend). Education award ($7,395 for serving 1,700 hours; $3,697.50 for serving 900 hours). Professional development opportunities. Healthcare plan available (1,700-hour members only). Food and childcare assistance, if applicable. REQUIREMENTS College seniors, associate degree holders, retired teachers, and high school/college graduates are eligible to apply (Students aged 17+ are eligible, but require parental consent). Must be eligible to work in the U.S. (U.S. citizen or permanent resident) Note: AmeriCorps is not a job but a service to the community; see stipend amounts above and attend an upcoming orientation.

Member Duties : Tutors will provide aid to scholars in whatever subject they feel most comfortable tutoring in, whether it be GED Math, Science, Social Studies, RLA, or generic homework assistance. Tutoring will also be available remotely. Mentors will be in charge of working with small groups, peer-to-peer, or setting up workshops to aid the scholars. Providing guidance to the community scholars, college application aid, and enrichment workshops. Workshops may be remote or at Boxwood. They will be able to be deployed in different ways, at Boxwood, Abraham Clark HS, or some of our various drop-in centers in Roselle, Plainfield, Hillside, or Rahway.
