San Juan Resiliente

The Autonomous Municipality of San Juan will have 14 AmeriCorps members providing direct services in two main areas of focus. The first area will concentrate on emergency preparedness, offering guidance, strategies to strengthen the community, and support for individuals and local organizations. This effort aims to enhance knowledge, response capacity, and community organization in the face of natural disasters. The second area will be dedicated to promoting well-being and health education for older adults aged 60 and over. Members will provide companionship in homes and community spaces, with the goal of reducing social isolation, improving access to resources, and enhancing participants’ quality of life. This dual approach seeks to strengthen community resilience and support vulnerable populations through concrete actions that foster safer, healthier, and more responsive environments throughout the city of San Juan.
