High School Success & College Access Specialist

The High School Success & College Access Specialist plays a vital role in preparing students to thrive academically, personally, and professionally as they transition from high school to higher education. This position provides individualized and group-based support to help students identify, pursue, and achieve their postsecondary goals. Responsibilities include guiding students through the college selection and application process, offering one-on-one coaching to build strong academic and extracurricular profiles, and ensuring that students are aware of a wide range of college and career pathways. The Specialist also serves as a resource for families by facilitating workshops and providing individualized assistance with financial aid applications, including FAFSA and CSS Profile completion. In addition, this role requires consistent monitoring of student progress, proactive intervention when challenges arise, and collaboration with school staff, community partners, and families to keep students on track for graduation and postsecondary success. The ideal candidate is student-focused, culturally responsive, and deeply committed to expanding educational opportunity. They bring strong organizational and communication skills, a collaborative spirit, and the ability to foster trusting relationships with both students and families. Ultimately, the Specialist works to ensure that every student has the knowledge, resources, and confidence to access and succeed in the college environment that best fits their aspirations.
