Indy Employment Corps Building Futures
 
 
 
Members serving in the Employment & Microenterprise Development Program (EMEDP) focus on helping refugee and immigrant community members prepare for and access job opportunities. This includes assisting with job applications, resumes, and interview practice, as well as connecting participants to job fairs and training programs. Members may also support individuals interested in starting or growing small businesses by providing guidance, referrals, and basic technical assistance. Through this role, members help participants gain confidence in their job search, build pathways to employment, and explore opportunities for self-sufficiency through work or entrepreneurship.

Member Duties : Assist participants with creating resumes, cover letters, and completing job applications. Lead or support job readiness workshops, including interview practice and workplace communication. Connect individuals to job fairs, training programs, and employment opportunities. Provide one-on-one support for participants exploring career options. Help community members interested in small businesses or microenterprises by sharing resources, referrals, and basic guidance. Work with local partners to connect participants to entrepreneurship and workforce programs. Encourage and motivate participants as they build skills and confidence in employment or business development. Keep records of participant progress, job applications, and referrals made.
