Social Media Ambassador Program

Support Delaware-based nonprofits by enhancing their marketing & outreach while giving members hands-on experience in digital communications & community engagement. Members help nonprofits share stories, highlight impact, and connect more effectively with the communities. Service activities focus on creating and managing social media content that promotes missions, success stories, and giving campaigns. Members assist nonprofits in building stronger online presences by developing and executing digital strategies designed to increase awareness, recruit volunteers, and expand reach. This includes creating content calendars, designing graphics, capturing impact stories, and tracking engagement to measure effectiveness. In addition to supporting year-round outreach, members help nonprofits prepare for Delaware Giving Day, a statewide fundraising initiative that brings together hundreds of nonprofits and thousands of donors. Members assist with messaging, strengthen online profiles, and ensure organizations are ready to share impact stories that inspire generosity and community support. AmeriCorps members also play a role in community building by recruiting and engaging student volunteers to broaden the program’s reach. By doing so, they help cultivate the next generation of changemakers while encouraging a culture of service and civic engagement. All members attend training sessions that strengthen skills in nonprofit operations, communications, and community leadership. They contribute to a collaborative learning environment while gaining valuable experience in digital strategy, project management, and nonprofit capacity building. Members also track service hours, outcomes, and success stories to contribute to program evaluation and continuous improvement. AmeriCorps members make a measurable impact on Delaware’s nonprofit sector while building skills that prepare them for future careers in marketing, communications, and social impact.
