Piedmont AmeriCorps Team Lead
 
 
 
Teacher Support Specialists will be assigned to serve in-person in an elementary school classroom to support a certified classroom teacher. Members will assist with a variety of activities, including but not limited to: providing small group instruction, supporting social/emotional needs of students, enriching family/school relationships, monitoring student progress and attendance, and supporting students with one-on-one math and literacy tutoring.

Member Duties : The Team Lead will serve full-time with the United Way of the Piedmont as a peer leader to AmeriCorps Teacher Support Specialists. They will also assist the Program Coordinator with member recruitment, orientation and planning and executing regular member trainings. They will work to improve communication with teachers and members by sending weekly newsletters and conducting regular check-ins with teachers and members.
