This position is an in-person, 10-month (September 2025 - July 2026) AmeriCorps service program opportunity. AmeriCorps is a federal agency for national service and volunteerism. Members serve their country by addressing critical challenges and supporting community-focused initiatives. This is a full-time opportunity and you will receive a living allowance of $3,700 per month. Requirements include: - 10-month commitment (September 2025 - July 2026) - Possess some college credit - Interest in working with high school students - Have knowledge of college access and financial aid material - Must be a US citizen, US national or lawful permanent resident - Ability to clear state and federal background check and fingerprint screening - Valid driver's license, reliable transportation and ability to navigate in and around greater Atlanta Responsibilities will include but not limited to: - Provide whole-school financial aid awareness support by: - Creating individualized 4-year funding plans - Tracking FAFSA, scholarship, and admissions milestones - Offering one-on-one guidance to students - Support students with scholarship searches, essay feedback, and financial aid navigation through TSA’s Virtual Scholarship Center. - Facilitate FAFSA and scholarship workshops. - Maintain accurate student case notes. - Engage families, schools, and partners through regular communication and events. - Participate in professional development to stay current on FAFSA changes, scholarship trends, and best practices.
