The Virginia Capacity Building Project supports Serve Virginia and their partners in alleviating the effects of poverty through organizational capacity building. While our project covers a wide range of issue areas, from substance use disorder to educational opportunities, all of our members are dedicated to increasing the impact and reach of volunteerism and to pursuing healthy futures for all Virginians. The efforts of our AmeriCorps members will help us build towards a healthier, happier, and stronger Commonwealth.

Member Duties : Serve your community and develop your professional skills through a year of service with AmeriCorps VISTA! In this in-person position, the Boys and Girls Club of the Northern Neck Marketing and Communications VISTA will build capacity by strengthening the organization’s outreach, ensuring that youth within their service area have access to vital programs and opportunities. The Member will do so by supporting brand initiatives, maintaining online content, and implementing strategic marketing and public relations efforts. The right fit for this position will have excellent communication and content creation skills, experience in marketing and public relations, and proficiency in MS Office, social media platforms, and Canva. Applicants should have a valid Driver’s License & be insurable under BGCNN standards. A bachelor’s degree is preferred but not required. Must be able to perform duties that require prolonged standing, walking, bending, sitting, & occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds.
