Grants and Data VISTA

The VISTA will familiarize themself with the Wai'anae community and 'Elepaio Social Services’(ESS) mission, operations and services by working directly as a member across the different programs and services. They will work to establish a grant and fundraising system that will streamline the process of identifying, applying for, and managing funds. The grant and fundraising system will allow 'Elepaio Social Services (ESS) to easily track and identify potential grants and donors that align with ESS’s programs around food sovereignty, food as medicine, and emergency preparedness. Upon developing the grant and fundraising system, this member will apply for different funding opportunities. This grant and fundraising system will allow ESS to continue to function as a nonprofit and service the community at no cost to them (like food pantries and community wellness workshops. They will also assess data infrastructure and systems by familiarizing themselves with ESS’s data systems to streamline collection, storage, and access to information for internal and external reporting. Assist in building staff capacity in data use and evaluation by equipping ESS staff with the knowledge and tools to effectively collect, analyze, and interpret data. The VISTA will develop a system for tracking outcomes and communicating the impact of ESS’s programs. In doing so, the VISTA will create systems that allow ESS to use data more efficiently to acquire funding and support from donors, grants, and organizations to continue to support our work in the Wai’ane community. The VISTA will also support data-driven decision making and grant writing and ensure data is accessible and usable for strategic planning and fundraising within Waianae Coast Comprehensive Health Center guidelines.
