The HU CARES Mental Health Clinic’s mission is to create an inclusive, supportive environment offering personalized, evidence-based interventions to help clients overcome challenges and build resilience. The goal is to use the capacity-building grant to establish the necessary infrastructure, begin service delivery, and create sustainable systems to ensure the clinic’s long-term success in meeting the community’s mental health needs.

Member Duties : The VISTA member will support the development and sustainability of the HU CARES Mental Health Clinic. Key responsibilities include: 1) Engaging local schools, community groups, and healthcare providers to promote the clinic, reduce stigma, and raise awareness; 2) Identifying funding sources, including donors and grants, to support clinic operations; 3) Assisting in the expansion of telehealth services for accessible mental health care; 4) Building partnerships with healthcare providers, insurers, and philanthropic organizations; and 5) Developing training programs and continuing education workshops to retain minority professionals, prevent burnout, and enhance service delivery for underserved populations.
