Medical Reserve Corps Plan Coordinator
 
 
 
This position joins Oregon Health Authority’s statewide AmeriCorps VISTA team. In addition to activities at your individual site, each member receives additional orientation, training throughout the year, team meetings, and support from VISTA team leaders and project director. The last day to submit an application is May 26, 2025. Lincoln County Emergency Management serves all residents by preparing for, responding to, and recovering from disasters. We coordinate with local, state, and federal partners to create emergency plans, provide public education, and ensure community safety. Our focus includes supporting vulnerable populations, such as low-income residents, by improving access to resources, shelters, and information during emergencies. These efforts help alleviate poverty by reducing the financial and health impacts of disasters. Member Duties : The AmeriCorps member will enhance public health and emergency management systems to better serve local populations. They will develop a medically fragile shelter plan, transition the Medical Reserve Corps to Public Health, and create emergency preparedness programs for older adults and individuals with electronic medical devices. Duties include conducting needs assessments, drafting plans, organizing training, and creating outreach materials. Applicants should have experience with research, writing, project management, public health knowledge, adaptability, problem-solving and self-motivation. AmeriCorps VISTA members serve Oregonians through indirect service and capacity building, meaning the work you will do is the behind-the-scenes work. While programs developed endure for years, you will have limited interaction with the community and will serve in a professional office. Applicants should be independent, motivated, reliable, and have strong writing and communication skills.
