| Member Duties : Gene Slay’s Girls & Boys Club’s (GSGBC) Summer program was created using an evidence-based curriculum specific to youth ages 6 to 16. It runs Monday-Friday from 7am – 5pm. Our program focuses on six core areas: Academic Support & Enrichment; Athletics, Aquatics, & Recreation; Character Building; Healthy Living; Visual & Performing Arts; and College & Career Readiness. Within each of those core areas, youth can expand their knowledge base, explore their individual interests, and receive the support necessary to reduce summer learning loss. The programs follow national models with a focus on the six core competencies during afterschool and summer hours to provide academic, athletic, and socially relevant programs to enhance a child’s growth. Members receive breakfast, lunch, and a snack, which combat hunger and food insecurity. Summer Associates will support the efforts of the programs listed above.
