Homewood Children’s Village (HCV) is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of Homewood’s children while simultaneously reweaving the fabric of the community in which they live. Through collaboration, engagement, and advocacy, we offer a continuum of direct services and learning support for youth and their families, from cradle to career, working diligently to address the complex challenges facing Homewood’s youth. HCV AmeriCorps Learn & Earn Coaches plays a key role in this mission by providing direct support to youth participants in the Learn & Earn program. The role requires regular engagement with youth, worksite supervisors, and HCV staff to ensure participants succeed in their professional development and work-based learning. As a coach, you will foster relationships, offer guidance, and maintain communication between participants, worksites, and the program team. You will also track data, manage administrative tasks, and provide support to help students meet their educational and career goals. Site Locations: Pittsburgh Faison K-5 or multiple community worksites Service Term: May 27, 2025-August 8, 2025

Member Duties : Coaches will: Build familiarity and positive, trusting relationships with youth and worksite supervisors Be the initial point of contact for both youth and supervisors when worksite related questions, concerns or challenges arise Be fully available to serve during required program days and times Help redirect and encourage professional worksite behaviors among youth Assist with and ensure all youth complete timesheets weekly in ADP Attend AmeriCorps Member orientation Provide support during Youth and Family Night orientation Visit multiple worksites during the week to support youth and monitor worksite expectations and attendance Travel to multiple worksites each week or travel on public transportation with youth to various career exploration and college prep visits. Support weekly career exploration and college prep visits Help youth complete Post Secondary Plans Help organize and support youth end-of-year program celebration
