*MCVP – Boys and Girls Club Fundraising VISTA

The goal of this VISTA project is to secure funding to support the sustainability of programs at the Boys and Girls Club. The Boys and Girls Club of the Northern Cheyenne Nation provides services to children who often live in broken and impoverished homes. Approximately 60% of Club kids live in single parent homes; 17% live with grandparents or extended families; and 9% live with foster families. 84% of Club kids live in HUD (subsidy) housing. The children served by the Boys and Girls club represent a disadvantaged population at high risk of suffering from the different kinds of social violence that poverty inevitably inflicts on a community. The Tribe is in desperate need of services to assist and guide youths. Drug and alcohol abuse is prevalent throughout the reservation, fueled by a lack of role models and recreational opportunities. This VISTA project will move the children served by the Boys and Girls Club of the Northern Cheyenne Nation by securing funding to support youth programs, resulting in sustainable youth outreach and support programs that will help them achieve healthier life outcomes. Located in Forsyth, MT! This VISTA project provides housing!
