Disability:IN Uinta County VISTA
 
 
 
A VISTA member will join Disability:IN Uinta County in beautiful Evanston, Wyoming to further the organization’s capacity to serve individuals with disabilities and educate the community. Disability:IN Uinta County serves individuals with disabilities through a variety of educational opportunities, including youth employment workshops, job coaching, summer employment opportunities, and youth empowerment resources. They place a special emphasis on the transitional period between high school and whatever path individuals plan to take, through their Post High School Transition program. This program focuses on helping at-risk youth and youth with disabilities transition from high school to employment, post-secondary education, trades, or military.

Member Duties : The member will work in tandem with the Disability:IN Uinta County team to improve the organization’s reach and effectiveness in multiple areas. Poverty will be addressed through improvement of programs which act to educate individuals with disabilities to secure stable income, as well as educate employers on the importance of hiring individuals of all abilities. This assignment will focus largely on developing and refining the organization’s strategic plan through the conduction of needs assessments, while also designing and enhancing programs. Specific VISTA assignments include the creation of training materials, educational materials, and volunteer recruitment strategies. The VISTA member will also plan campaigns to raise awareness about Disability:IN Uinta County and its services and resources.
