Garden for All - Systems Improvement VISTA

In 2020 Catherine and Shawn Duffy started a small garden on the land of their church and donated 750 pounds of produce to the food pantry in response to high food insecurity during COVID. Each year since, The Garden for All has expanded production, including to a three-acre organic farm in 2025. With this expansion and 300+ volunteers, we remain focused on our mission of Fighting Hunger and Growing Community. We provide as much fresh, nutritious, and sustainably grown produce as possible to meet the increasing needs of our pantry partners, ensuring access to healthy produce for those facing food insecurity. Through volunteerism, we create opportunities for people to connect with the earth and with one another. We provide ways for individuals to invest in the well-being of their larger community, contributing to the health of others. We offer education on gardening and sustainability, empowering food pantry customers and community members with the knowledge to grow. In 2025, we harvested and distributed more than 36,000 pounds of produce (more than double production in 2024!) to ten food pantry partners in Central Ohio with the help of 300 volunteers. In 2026, we plan to scale up to 50,000 pounds of produce with the help of 400+ volunteers. The ultimate goal is to donate more than 100,000 pounds of produce each year to our local food pantry partners in Franklin and Licking County by 2027.
