PHENND Fellows: BOLT Program Support Coordinator
 
 
 
At BOLT, we believe that social change happens when led by people with lived experience. We work to empower grassroots leaders to bring the change their communities want to see. We do that by supporting adult community leaders in accelerating their impact, and working with public school youth to build a pipeline of leaders with lived experience. What we’re looking for: Passionate about working with youth and guiding them in leadership development; Strong at facilitating - 80% youth speaking, 20% facilitator speaking (mainly through asking questions to guide the conversation); Understands that your role is to guide, not dictate what youth should believe or do; Demonstrates leadership presence and gains respect in a room; Understands that experiences our youth may have outside of BOLT may impact how they show up in BOLT, and can wholeheartedly support our young people; Strong time management and organizational skills; Strong communicative skills and detail oriented This project is a part of the PHENND Fellows VISTA program housed at the Philadelphia Higher Education Network for Neighborhood Development (PHENND). PHENND is a network of over 25 colleges and universities that strengthens service-learning, civic engagement, and community partnership in Philadelphia.

Member Duties : You will be responsible for taking our programs to the next level, in partnership with our youth leaders, adult leaders, and Programs team. (1) Transform our Youth Advisory Board to be more deeply integrated into BOLT’s internal processes and our programs. (2) Create an operating manual for our Youth Advisory Board with support of our BOLT youth leaders. (3) Guide the iteration of the transformed Youth Advisory Board for 1-year with the support of the Programs team. (4) Create a sustainable system/protocol for active organizational community outreach to support BOLT programming and maintain brand awareness in the community. (5) Attend community events - 3 events a month. (6) Assist the Program team with any necessary program needs. You will also be expected to participate in our Youth Leaders Fellowship to provide some facilitation and coordination, so you understand how our programs operate firsthand. You will also be expected to attend our School for Grassroots Leadership.
