AmeriCorps Peak Pathfinder YouthPower365
 
 
 
The Peak Pathfinders AmeriCorps program is excited to launch its fifth class to continue to support the youth and families of Eagle County. Peak Pathfinders engage with youth of all ages throughout the school day and after school to encourage and inspire youth to feel successful in all aspects of their lives. Eagle County Schools are home to a diverse student population with 52% of students identifying as LatinX Spanish is widely spoken, nearly all Eagle County Schools instruct in both English and Spanish. AmeriCorps members will work with YouthPower365 and Eagle County Schools to provide one on one tutoring, mentorship, and support to Elementary, Middle and High School aged students. They will continue to support students in afterschool programs and in the greater community out of school through family engagement. AmeriCorps members will work to develop unique extracurricular activities, and inform future policy regarding family engagement, High School aged programming, and volunteering. Members will spend 75% of their service hours directly working with students, and 25% on other projects with other organizations, engaging families, and personal and professional development.

Member Duties : 1 on 1 mentorship: AmeriCorps Members will be mentors to students identified as struggling with either academics or social, emotional, mental health. As mentors AmeriCorps members will work with students to accomplish short term goals and develop skills and habits that will foster future success. YouthPower365 afterschool: During YouthPower365 afterschool programs Members will have the opportunity to join sessions that they are passionate about. These sessions are extra-curricular clubs such as soccer, chess, film, and many more. During these sessions they will continue to foster relationships with youth as trusted adult mentors, while supporting the groups facilitator and YouthPower365 staff. Out of school Family Engagement: Members will also dedicate time to engaging with students families through community events, service with outside organizations and direct progress reporting.
