MCVP - Bozeman Human Resource Development Council VISTA

The goal of this project is to develop an organization-wide volunteer program to strengthen the Human Resource Development Council’s full suite of community services that help alleviate poverty throughout southwest Montana. Currently, 14.9% of the Southwest Montana community is living in poverty. There are 73,076 cost-burdened households with 8,430 adults and 2,980 children. More than 400 individuals and families are experiencing the trauma of homelessness. In 2024, over 13,000 individuals received services through 70+ programs operating within the Bozeman Human Resource Development Council (HRDC). At the HRDC, we work to overcome hunger, homelessness, and the challenges tied to poverty by instilling hope, developing essential resources, and implementing transformative solutions. With programs spanning food and nutrition, energy and conservation, housing and homelessness, transportation, senior services, early childhood development, and community and economic development, we respond to critical community needs. This VISTA project will move individuals in Southwest Montana out of poverty through the establishment of an organization-wide volunteer program resulting in an increased level of efficacy in all HRDC’s service areas. Located in Bozeman, MT!
