Earn to Learn Next Steps Program
 
 
 
The Earn to Learn Next Steps Program is dedicated to collaborating with local high school leaders and community partners who share our commitment to supporting part-time college advisors on their campuses. Our goal is to foster a college-going culture and elevate postsecondary attendance rates through a collaborative team approach. The Next Steps Program actively recruits currently enrolled college students and recent college graduates to serve as Next Steps Advisors in high schools and community partner sites across Arizona. Using a near-peer model, our Advisors work alongside school counselors and other professionals to provide essential support and guidance to students as they navigate the transition from high school to postsecondary education. These part-time Advisors play a pivotal role in helping students prepare for college attendance, navigate the admissions and financial aid processes, and make informed decisions about their futures.

Member Duties : Advisors will commit to a term of service from August 2024 to May 2025 (18 hrs./week). Primary Responsibilities, but not limited to: • Interact 2-3 times a week with high school students and families in the assigned high school to provide relevant information about post-secondary education and the college choice, application, and financial aid processes. • Organize group events that encourage students and their families to consider, plan for, and apply to colleges and universities. • Establish productive collegial relationships with principals, school counselors, and teachers in assigned high school, as well as community-based college access professionals. • Assist in the assessment and long-term sustainability of the program. • Build and maintain expertise in admission and financial aid advising.
