Land Stewardship and Public Engagement in Winnebago County
 
 
 
Most weeks Tuesday-Saturday, Some Mon-Fri SERVICE TIME: 25% Field Work- collect data for community science projects and contribute to land restoration projects in woodland, prairie, savanna, creek, and pond habitats 25% Volunteer Coordination- train, support, and communicate with volunteers 20% Education- support public education programming and events, greet guests. 10% Data Management and Analysis- enter data, analyze results, standardize systems, prepare reports, graphs, and maps. 10% Social Media and Blog Content- with support from the Education Programs Manager, create educational social media and blog content about community science and related efforts including graphics and videos. 10% Support- support annual special events, assist with minor facilities and grounds needs. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES -Education: Some college coursework required. -Data: some experience with or knowledge of data collection practices, statistics, and data visualization. -Field Work: ability to hike long distances in all weather and do moderate physical labor. -Communication: Strong writing, editing and verbal communication skills with ability to adapt information to different audiences. Ability to connect with community members and empower them in their service. -Time management: Independently prioritize tasks, adhere to deadlines, communicate delays. Ability to maintain regular attendance and punctuality. -Abilities: A valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation are required (mileage reimbursed at the IRS rate). -Systems: Ability to use or learn the following : -Microsoft and Google Suites -Canva or similar programs for graphic design and video editing Severson Dells makes reasonable accommodations for service and interviews.
