2025-2026 NeighborWorks Green Bay Tenant Engagement VISTA

NeighborWorks Green Bay has been a leader in solving housing challenges and building stronger communities across northeastern Wisconsin since 1982, helping to drive a high quality of life that in 2023 landed Green Bay (“big city, small town feel”) the #1 spot in U.S. News and World Report’s best places ranking. The NWGB VISTA will be a key player in creating new opportunities for our organization to realize its commitment to center the voices of residents in our decision-making and actions, and to build the capacity of residents to direct the future of their community. Working with an internal change team, the NWGB VISTA will support a cross-cutting organizational change team in the following activities: research best practices in tenant engagement; assess organizational readiness to work productively with engaged tenants; plan, implement and evaluate goals and strategies for productive organization-tenant partnerships; and support NWGB board, staff, and volunteers in building their capacities individually and collectively to be productive partners with rental tenants. The VISTA will lead a pilot initiative with residents of a 40-unit apartment complex to build individual and collective capacities to create change using an asset based community development framework. NWGB seeks candidates that bring passion for supporting human development and collective power-building, demonstrated experience in fostering relationship- and team-building, excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to manage multiple tasks, resourcefulness and initiative. This position offers an exciting opportunity to lead a major change-making initiative within a highly-respected organization.

Member Duties : The AmeriCorps VISTA member will research best practices in rental tenant engagement and lead an organizational change team to assess organizational readiness and implement new ways of working with rental tenants that result in co-production of quality of life. The VISTA member will also work with rental tenants directly in a pilot of tenant-led relationship-building and action towards community-led goals. The VISTA member will be supporting capacity building for both the organization and rental tenants towards a goal of productive partnership and co-creation of quality of life.
