Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks AmeriCorps members serve at Montana state parks and FWP regional offices across the state of Montana. As a Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks AmeriCorps member, you will likely spend time: Bringing lessons to life for children as you help strengthen Montana State Parks as an outdoor classroom Honing your interpretive skills as you develop a trail guide, interpretive sign or give a campfire presentation Instilling a sense of stewardship in local community members as you organize volunteer events and promote volunteer opportunities Undergoing the experience of a lifetime as you share your skills and abilities with Montana State Parks, the local community and the nation through AmeriCorps

Member Duties : With the proximity to Kalispell, MT, Lone Pine State Park offers the perfect outdoor classroom setting to provide the areas youth with multiple interactions in nature. This position will coordinate the educational programs at the park, which include school field trips, guided hikes, and youth programs throughout the year, as well as national events. Additionally, this position will increase volunteerism, particularly with volunteers who could assist in presenting educational programs and groups who would assist in volunteer workdays. The member in this position will work weekends and some weekdays to be determined based by the park.
