2025 VISTA Resource Development Strategist

For 20 years the Wyoming Housing Network, Inc. (WHN) has served the State of Wyoming. It is based in Casper, WY through a collaborative statewide planning process and incorporated as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in January 2005 to address the affordable housing needs in Wyoming. The mission of WHN is to strengthen Wyoming communities by providing quality resources and opportunities for people to reach their housing goals. WHN accomplishes its mission as a Community Housing Development Organization (CHDO) by creating affordable housing across the state and by delivering high-quality housing education services: homebuyer education and counseling, financial capabilities programs, reverse mortgage counseling, housing counseling, homeowner counseling, foreclosure prevention services, post-foreclosure counseling, and rental coaching. We are the only HUD certified Housing Counseling Agency in the State. WHN works to improve financial literacy and impact behaviors to help people reach their housing goals. We also have 14 income restricted properties with another 48 units beginning construction in 2024. We completed a large rehabilitation project of 127 at our Spring Hill Apartment complex in Natrona County in 2024. It included renovations of individual units, outer stairs, foundations, and the building exterior in 2024. WHN is committed to innovative partnership and projects to solve housing the growing housing issues ion the state. These include veterans housing, single family housing development for homeownership, and innovations in the production of housing. WHN is also creating an in-house property management company to manage our portfolio of affordable housing properties. WHN's capacity to accomplish its mission is expanded as the only Wyoming based Affiliate of NeighborWorks® America. At end of our fiscal year in 2024 WHN has served 2,435 counseling clients and provided 434 units of housing.
