2025-26 NeighborWorks Way Finders Digital Inclusion VISTA

The project will mitigate the effects of housing instability and the digital divide for low-income families, older adults, Black and Latino residents, and homeless individuals. The digital divide has been identified as a barrier to employment, resources, health, and housing. VISTAs will manage a team of Resident Advocates who participate in the Connect Hampden County Coalition, which works to improve access to affordable and reliable internet, access to devices, and digital literacy skills. Other areas of focus will be organizing bilingual digital literacy training, assessing residents' digital needs, and strengthening digital literacy and digital equity advocacy programs by researching best practices and evaluating the effectiveness of similar programs in Springfield and Holyoke. In addition, the project will advance our work in building community leaders through Resident Leadership programs. They will support residents in their goals to build their capacity as advocates for fair housing, housing rights initiatives, and neighborhood revitalization
