Marin Public Health Associate
 
 
 
OD Free Marin is recruiting one new AmeriCorps VISTA member to support overdose prevention activities throughout Marin County. The VISTA will work to expand partnership with youth serving organizations, including developing a toolkit of youth overdose prevention resources. Additionally, The VISTA will support communications projects including newsletter, blog, and social media with the ultimate goal of launching an anti-stigma campaign. Finally, The VISTA will represent OD Free Marin at community outreach events including coordinating with event hosts, making preparations for supplies and staffing, and coordinating with volunteers. The selected member will develop skills in marketing, social media, community outreach, public speaking, program design and implementation, and event planning. The selected candidate will be a part a statewide member learning community through PHI Center for Health Leadership & Impact, the largest AmeriCorps VISTA sponsor in the Western Region. This community includes support from VISTA Leads and professional development opportunities including workshops, networking events, conferences and other trainings. Member Duties : All members serve full-time, 40 hours per week for a full 12-month term. This is an in-person position and the selected candidate must live within commuting distance of San Rafael, CA. Modest relocation assistance is available. Please note, this role is administrative and will focus on capacity building projects. The role will not include any direct service. Core responsibilities of this role include partnership development, social media management, and community outreach. This VISTA member will need to be able to independently complete tasks. Additionally, the VISTA member should have interest in program coordination and project management versus direct service.
