VISTA Operational/Volunteer Support Boys/Girls Club Stamford

BGCS serves 500 children daily, from kindergarten through 12th grade. Our mission is to enable all youth to achieve their full potential as productive, caring, and responsible citizens. Our formula for impact focuses on fostering academic success, good character, citizenship, and healthy lifestyles—regardless of a family’s ability to pay. This ensures that all children, especially those from low-income households and underserved communities, have access to the resources and support they need to thrive. BGCS is in the heart of Stamford, CT, a city known for its vibrant and diverse community. Just minutes from downtown, our location offers a perfect blend of urban energy, cultural richness, and community engagement. From outdoor summer concerts at Mill River Park to the annual Stamford Downtown Parade Spectacular, the city is alive with events and activities that make it an exciting place to live and serve. Transportation in Stamford is another key advantage. With access to Metro-North trains and other public transit options, the city offers easy connections to New York City and surrounding areas. The VISTA member will enhance the Boys and Girls Club of Stamford’s capacity to serve the diverse youth by expanding volunteer engagement program and strengthening monitoring and evaluation processes. They will be involved in volunteer recruitment, training, and management; and lead efforts to refine organizational data collection and evaluation processes. The role allows members to develop valuable skills in volunteer management, program monitoring and evaluation, and strategic partnership building. Additionally, VISTA members will enhance their leadership, communication, and project management abilities, all while contributing to the growth and sustainability of programs that provide critical resources to the community. Project Start Day is March 10, 2025 VISTA members will be required to pass the background check.
