The Sacramento County Opioid Coalition is recruiting one new AmeriCorps VISTA member to support overdose prevention activities throughout Sacramento County. The AmeriCorps VISTA member will support projects including developing a map of free naloxone availability and launching a new NaloxBox program. Additionally, the VISTA will create collaborative content for the Sacramento Opioid Coalition and the Sacramento County Meth Coalition's existing social media pages. Finally, the member will be responsible for coordinating and promoting town-hall meetings in collaboration with all five Sacramento County Board of Supervisors. The selected member will develop skills in logistics, organization, coordination, and interpersonal communication. Selected candidates will be a part a statewide member learning community through PHI Center for Health Leadership and Impact, the largest AmeriCorps VISTA sponsor in the Western Region. This community includes support from VISTA Leads and professional development opportunities including workshops, networking events, conferences and other trainings. Members will be part of a network of over 200 CHLI AmeriCorps alums.

Member Duties : All members serve full-time, 40 hours per week for a full 12-month term. This is an in-person position And the selected candidate must live within Sacramento County. Modest relocation assistance is available. Please note, this role is administrative and will focus on capacity building projects. The role will not include any direct service. Core responsibilities of this role include harm reduction projects, social media management, and community outreach.This VISTA member will need to be able to independently complete tasks. Additionally, the VISTA member should have interest in program coordination and project management versus direct service.
