GoodwillSR AmeriCorps Program - Alabama
 
 
 
AmeriCorps is a national service program for the Corporation of National and Community Services. The service position of an AmeriCorps member is a part-time (20-25 hour a week) 11-month state AmeriCorps grant opportunity in partnership with Goodwill Industries of the Southern Rivers (GoodwillSR). AmeriCorps members are required to complete 900 service hours in 11 months. This grant has the possibility of being extended for additional years if state funding is approved. This service position does not equate to direct employment with GoodwillSR.

Member Duties : GoodwillSR AmeriCorps members will assist in recruiting and outreach strategies to our target audience to increase client engagement within Mission Services offerings to help individuals achieve gainful employment. and free tax preparation. AmeriCorps members will help to increase community awareness of the programs that GoodwillSR offers and supports Mission services activities, Monday through Friday, 30 hours a week. Members will assist with the VITA Tax Program by recruiting and training volunteers, completing tax returns in person or virtually, and teaching financial education classes. AmeriCorps members will log all data into the assigned case management and/or tax prep systems. AmeriCorps members will participate in multiple training programs to gain skills and knowledge.
