Literacy In Financial Thinking - LIFT Fernley
 
 
 
The AmeriCorps member will be expected to serve Half-time (Avg-30 hours a week), January 6th, 2025 – August 17th, 2025. Service hours schedule will be determined by the Boys & Girls Club site. The primary purpose of the HCC AmeriCorps’s-LIFT program is to teach Literacy in Financial Thinking. Members will teach workshops and classes from the FDIC Money Smart curriculum that will help teach community members the basics in Financial Literacy and assist them in economic security. Benefits: Segal Education Award (upon successful completion) Half-Time term of service = $3697.50, Living Allowance Half-Time term of service =$11,000 per term paid twice monthly, Member Assistance Program, Student Loan Forbearance while serving. Training: Financial Literacy through the FDIC Money Smart program, Community Health Worker training, CPR, training applicable to Boy & Girls Club site Primary Functions: Set up a class schedule for weekly age-appropriate classes, Train community participants in financial literacy, Participate in one stand-alone outreach event providing financial literacy education, Input pre and post surveys of participants, Participate in 1 Day of National Service Skills and Abilities: Must be responsible and reliable, Have reliable transportation to service, Must have strong verbal communication skills, Be comfortable speaking to individuals or to small groups, Organized and detail oriented, Be a self-starter and be able to work independently, Bilingual helpful (English/Spanish).
