Marketing & Public Relations (NOLA)

Global Green intends to carry out this initiative through the existing Global Green Community & Climate Action Center (“CCAC”), which was constructed in 2018 to serve as an incubator for green and resilience infrastructure education, with a focus on social justice, environmental equity, and coastal resilience. Global Green looks forward to working with local representatives staff utilizing their experience and knowledge to help execute our common goal and rebuild the community with a dedicate Global Green staff group, which includes policies to: • Assemble a “Community Advisory Leadership Team” comprising local residents, Lower 9th Homeowner Association members, and key Global Green professional staff to ensure that the best interests of the entire community are well represented and respected; • In conjunction with the Advisory Team and construction specialists, conduct comprehensive inspections and surveys of all the MIR homes to assess damages and necessary repairs; • Following completion of the inspections, host a “Town Hall” style event at the CCAC for residents and all community stakeholders to open a dialogue and discuss Global Green’s plan to restore the homes; • Arrange for a certified third party to assess the results of Global Green’s survey and compile the information to be analyzed by green certified builders and other construction specialists, to evaluate and design an anticipated repair process, including budget, allocation of settlement funds, and timeline. This plan would then be sent out for bid to qualified local contractors, prioritizing those homes in most critical need. The outcome of the Global Green Lower Ninth Community Project will include best practices in areas like affordable housing, renewable energy, climate disaster education and preparedness and will become an exportable model to other US cities, making this project the core initiative of the organization for the next few years.
