Circles VISTA Teams Coordinator
 
 
 
Since 1984 Open Doors has been providing services to eradicate poverty in Davis County. The VISTA member will be responsible to create teams of volunteers for our Circles program. Circles is a nationwide program that has a high success rate of assisting people out of poverty utilizing a multi-generational approach. Teams include: Services Team -works to identify relationships, that provide Circle Leader referrals to other programs such as childcare, transportation, healthcare, and financial assistance; Recruitment Team -promotes Circles in the community and helps recruit Circle Leaders; Jobs and Education Team -develops relationships with local workforce and education resources; Big View Team -researches systematic barriers that keep people in poverty and help improve program services. Open Doors' Circles program offers a unique experience for anyone wanting to make a difference through hands-on experience. This person should have excellent communication skills, computer skills, the willingness to help others and care about our community. Understanding the circle of relationships and lived experience is a plus.

Member Duties : Open Doors’ Circles AmeriCorps VISTA member will research best practices to expand volunteers within Circles Teams. Create templates on volunteer teams’ recruitment, establish partnerships in the community to recruit volunteers and support work of low income individuals. Work with Open Doors’ Communications Coordinator to create marketing materials. Create materials to better support volunteers working towards social and economic justice. Collaborate with other poverty fighting entities throughout the state.
