Watershed Education Specialist
 
 
 
Blue Elements Watershed Stewards is committed to increasing community resilience in the face of changing water conditions by supporting sustainable, equitable access to one of Colorado’s most valuable natural resources. AmeriCorps members will support organizations serving the water conservation, restoration, education and monitoring sectors in the Arkansas River Valley and beyond. Members may provide water education to youth and adults, complete water restoration projects, and support water quality monitoring projects. Members will work with diverse, traditionally underrepresented community members.

Member Duties : Plan and facilitate after school Environmental Clubs at the Elementary, Intermediate and High Schools, Develop and implement watershed education curriculum to utilize as the basis for the environmental club, Facilitate engaging, experiential field opportunities during Friday programming, Attend training for River Watch, and engage high school students in River Watch citizen science field water quality monitoring activities, Attend Project Dream trainings and professional development, Track progress and facilitate evaluation data for the program’s performance measures, Support Academic Enrichment and Credit Recovery programming as needed, Engage groups of multilingual youth in culturally responsive environmental education activities
