GoodRoots NW: Locker Online Inventory Coordinator VISTA

GoodRoots Northwest is proud to introduce an innovative solution to food access challenges: the GoodRoots NW Locker Network. The Locker Online Inventory Coordinator VISTA will play a crucial role in revolutionizing food access through GoodRoots Northwest’s innovative refrigerated locker network. This groundbreaking initiative utilizes cutting-edge technology to distribute fresh, nutritious food to underserved communities efficiently and sustainably. By developing and refining scalable processes, this role supports the organization’s mission to expand its e-commerce food access project, reduce food waste, and enhance the customer experience. The Locker Network is a dynamic and scalable system designed to address food insecurity while promoting sustainability and equity within the food system. GoodRoots Northwest partners with Harvest Against Hunger, which utilizes a team of AmeriCorps members in the Harvest VISTA program who build sustainable, community food security programs. These range from gleaning projects, to regional food security assessments, to expanding community-run gardens and food bank farms. AmeriCorps members serve with their projects for a year: recruiting and coordinating volunteers, creating systems to collect data and evaluate programs, and growing organizations through storytelling, development and fundraising. They benefit from professional development and team building in a nationwide cohort. Harvest Against Hunger and the Harvest VISTA Program aims to engage the larger community in addressing food insecurity.
