Healthy Futures Coordinator

Join AgeWell Services of West Michigan as a VISTA Healthy Futures Coordinator and help build sustainable programs that support healthy aging, food security, and community connection for seniors in Muskegon and Oceana counties. This role is all about developing systems, strengthening volunteer engagement, and creating tools that will ensure lasting impact for underserved older adults. In this position, you will focus on enhancing nutrition programs like Healthy Harvest Kits and Fresh Farm Bags by streamlining operations and coordinating volunteer efforts to process and distribute fresh, local produce. You’ll work closely with community partners, create “how-to” guides for program sustainability, and ensure these initiatives reach seniors who need them most. To support AgeWell’s broader mission, you’ll also expand the reach of senior wellness programs by identifying new locations, incorporating educational components, and creating interactive activities that promote health and engagement. By partnering with local organizations, you’ll develop innovative approaches to combat senior isolation, ensuring homebound adults remain connected to their communities through sustainable, creative engagement strategies. Volunteers play a key role in AgeWell’s success, and you’ll build systems to recruit, retain, and engage a diverse volunteer base for essential programs like Meals on Wheels and senior transportation services. You’ll design targeted outreach strategies, implement tools like VolunteerHub, and organize stewardship events that celebrate and sustain volunteer involvement. Your work will culminate in the creation of program evaluation tools and outreach systems to measure impact and raise awareness about AgeWell’s vital services. By developing resources, tracking program success, and fostering partnerships, you’ll ensure these efforts continue long after your service term ends.
