'25-'26 Upward Mobility Specialist VISTA
 
 
 
Are you ready to make a positive impact on the lives of newly-resettled refugee families? We are so excited to announce a VISTA opportunity with the Utah Refugee VISTA Project in Salt Lake City, Utah! By accepting this role, you would be joining a team of dedicated AmeriCorps members. We offer customized professional development opportunities to all members within our project. All members in our program receive an $880 bi-weekly stipend, 11 paid holidays, and 80 hours each of personal and medical leave. Additional benefits include relocation and settling-in allowance, childcare assistance, and healthcare reimbursement. Upon completion of service, our members are awarded their choice of an Education Award ($7,395) or cash stipend ($1,800), and a one-year federal noncompetitive eligibility status. Member Duties : Project: The Upward Mobility Specialist VISTA will enhance RSO's capacity to support refugees and low-income individuals by developing sustainable systems and resources that promote career advancement and economic independence. the VISTA will develop training materials, organize career development workshops, and maintain updated databases of scholarships, training opportunities, and partnerships with education providers. By creating sustainable systems such as training manuals, train-the-trainer curricula, and clear referral processes, the VISTA project will strengthen the organization's ability to provide long-term, impactful services, empowering individuals to achieve upward mobility.
