Texas Diaper Bank Volunteer Recruitment Specialist VISTA

Texas Diaper Bank is the first and largest diaper bank in the state of Texas, working to eliminate the health disparities keeping Texas families in poverty by uniquely addressing 3 neglected public health concerns: the diaper gap, the incontinence gap, and period poverty through the distribution of millions of healthcare essentials each year. Texas Diaper Bank's programs are designed to empower low-income and at-risk individuals by promoting health equity and expanding access to healthcare essentials, nonperishable items, and the necessary resources to end poverty and succeed fully. For nearly 30 years, Texas Diaper Bank's programs have empowered low-income families with resiliency and confidence, allowing them to pursue opportunities and make decisions that can improve their well-being and quality of life. The Texas Diaper Bank VISTA Project is designed to support the growth, improvement, and sustainability of the organization's programs and processes. VISTA members will provide valuable research, assessments, and insights to strengthen the reach and effectiveness of Texas Diaper Bank's services. Members will contribute to the project's goals by performing activities such as developing relationships with community-based organizations, researching novel funding opportunities, developing evaluation tools to measure organizational capacity, and organizing outreach events. The Texas Diaper Bank VISTA Project seeks candidates with strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, a willingness to learn, professional communication skills, and experience working collaboratively with others.

Member Duties : The Texas Diaper Bank VISTA Project aims to build infrastructure to support the organization’s fundraising strategy and overall capacity to serve through research, creativity, and advocacy for Texas Diaper Bank’s programs and services. Members will contribute to the Texas Diaper Bank VISTA Project's goals by performing activities such as designing a volunteer development strategy, recruiting volunteer groups, and establishing partnerships to leverage in-kind resources.
