Root & Rebound VISTA Data Specialist

To empower people in reentry to fight and advocate for themselves and their families, break down legal and discriminatory barriers, and have a true second chance. Our ability to do this improves when our ability to gather, store, analyze, and report our data does. In this term, the VISTA Data Specialist will increase R&R’s capacity to apply for and onboard new grants, as well as perform enhanced data gathering and reporting for internal initiatives, primarily by increasing the flexibility of our Client Management System as well as continuing to develop our client, community, and funder feedback loops and supporting the Data Manager in the implementation of a new database solution. The Data VISTA is crucial to meeting these goals. As a VISTA you would, 1) Analyze and respond to appropriate data requests; 2) Use case management software, Python, Google Query, Google Sheets, and excel to find, sort, and organize data in an appropriate manner; 3) Report on our major grants, pulling appropriate demographic data and filling out reports with information as needed, and collaborating with entities within R&R to develop narratives and background information as needed; 4) Collaborate in managing Google Drives containing the work described above including assets like templates, process documents, data breakdowns, and resources; 5) Tracking client responses to the surveys you lead and distributing gift cards to respondents; 6) Develop survey results reports to distribute internally and analyze the results to spot trends and information from clients we wouldn’t otherwise see.

Member Duties : With the guidance of the Data Manager, this VISTA will 1) Lead our bi-annual Deep Direct Services Survey from the creation of the distribution list to distributing and coordinating the survey to reporting and analyzing the results using our existing methods; 2) Do Grant Reporting (data only) as well as internal ad hoc data requests; 3) Lead our Monthly Client Feedback Survey; 4) Work collaboratively on a CMS Maintenance project (perform simple non-coding maintenance tasks like data entry, add/remove tools, fields, selections, etc. using the CMS’s in-built tools and then document the effects of those changes on our backend data, provide remedies for those effects, and document the process for those remedies); 5) Build out, consolidate, and map our existing feedback loops (solicit, collect, and incorporate feedback from the project’s stakeholders, make results easily digestible and accessible, create a Feedback Loop Map for the organization to use to visualize the flow of feedback).
