River Conservation Corps
 
 
 
The River Corps Member will serve as Environmental and Conservation Technician for FOTY. The role will support the Environmental Program Manager and the Conservation Program Manager in carrying out their duties and tasks related to the Yampa River Scorecard Project, the Yampa River Stewardship Program, the Yampa River Leafy Spurge Project, the Stream Team program, strategies for meeting existing environmental flows, temperature monitoring in conjunction with the City of Steamboat Springs, the Yampa Basin Rendezvous, and other programs and events as needed.

Member Duties : Assist in gathering information, scoring indicators, and writing the final report for the People and Community Benefits and River Uses and Management attribute areas of the Yampa River Scorecard Project. Assist in retrieving and sharing temperature data from FOTY’s river temperature logger program Assist with researching and executing strategies related to meeting existing environmental flows in the Yampa River watershed Assist with planning and executing the 8th annual Yampa Basin Rendezvous – a conference focused on water and weather in the Yampa River watershed – in May 2025 Assist with landowner outreach and engagement through site visits, meetings, and development of written materials for the Yampa River Stewardship Program Assist with planning trainings for restoration practitioners for the Yampa River Stewardship Program Assist with demonstration project planning, implementation, and monitoring
