Climate Action VISTA
 
 
 
Hawaii is a small state with big ambitions and big actions–especially when it comes to addressing climate change. In response to the Paris Agreement, Hawaii created the Hawaii Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation Commission (CCMAC). The Commission’s priorities are captured in Hawaii’s climate change goals and targets, which can be achieved through high-impact actions. As a member of the U.S. Climate Alliance, we believe that smart, coordinated, data-driven State action can ensure that the U.S. continues to contribute to the global effort to address climate change.

Member Duties : The VISTA will support the Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation Commission in coordinating climate action across state and county activities. The VISTA will build the capacity and sustainability of the State and County interaction while providing support to up to the State Climate Commission. The VISTA enhancing the capacity of the counties to apply for coordinate and implement grants and positively impact of the state’s community resilience and climate change work overall. The VISTA will provide administrative support to the CCMAC, conduct outreach and coordinated community actions and events.
