Digital Navigation Corps - Digital Navigator (TX) (LitMN)

Digital Navigation Corps provides digital job readiness skills and creates pathways of economic opportunities for adults 16 years and older from low-income and historically under-invested communities. Digital Navigation Corps is a program of Literacy Minnesota, an organization that envisions a future where literacy eliminates injustices and strengthens communities. Digital Navigation Corps is Literacy Minnesota's response to the digital skills-gap that impacts communities across the country. Built on a longstanding tradition of service, and pioneering the newest resource in digital learning, Digital Navigation Corps addresses critical digital literacy needs by bringing Digital Navigators to work alongside community members who are striving to reach their professional goals. According to the National Digital Inclusion Alliance, “Digital equity is a condition in which all individuals and communities have the information technology capacity needed for full participation in our society, democracy, and economy.” However, many communities experience a gap between those who make full use of the internet and technology in their everyday lives and those who cannot because of significant barriers. Digital Navigators work in communities as trusted guides to provide one-on-one, individualized assistance to those who need it as well as small group support. This partnership between Literacy MN and Texas DEPDC @ TCALL will allow AmeriCorps service members to act as Digital Navigators. Their primary goal will be providing digital skills instruction to community members in their host site location. Begin service 1/27/2025 or 2/24/2025. Members earn $957 every two weeks. SERVICE SITES: • Austin Community College (Austin, TX) • Community Action Inc., of Central Texas (San Marcos, TX) • Restore Education (San Antonio, TX) • San Jacinto College (Pasadena, TX) • Ysleta Community Adult Learning Center (El Paso, TX)
