Central Coast Overdose Prevention VISTA Volunteer - Monterey

The CHLI AmeriCorps VISTA Hub is recruiting two, full-year AmeriCorps VISTA Volunteer to serve with Central Coast Overdose Prevention (CCODP). Established in 2020, Central Coast Overdose Prevention is an overdose prevention coalition of care providers, nonprofit organizations, and community members in central California. Their mission is to connect people with substance use information and treatment resources to combat the opioid epidemic and promote a safer, healthier California. The selected candidate will be a part a statewide learning community through PHI Center for Health Leadership and Impact. This community includes support from VISTA Leads and professional development opportunities including workshops, networking events, conferences and other trainings. Member Duties : All VISTA Volunteers serve full-time, 40 hours per week for a full 12-month term. This is an in-person position and the selected candidates must live within commuting distance of Monterey, CA. AmeriCorps VISTA Volunteers serve as a key support to coalition leadership and help build local capacity to turn the tide on the overdose epidemic. VISTA volunteers improve operational capacity and build a coordinated response to the overdose epidemic. At CCODP, VISTA Volunteers will: design a comprehensive social media strategy; develop overdose prevention educational materials; conduct grant research and support fundraising efforts; develop a centralized data tracking system; complete a comprehensive, one time website update; and develop outreach materials and coordination guides.
