EMPOWER:ABILITIES Grant Writer VISTA
 
 
 
Empower:Abilities is a Center for Independent Living (CIL). Our mission is to remove barriers and empower independent living for all people with disabilities. Staff, leadership and board work closely together to increase opportunity and expand access through services of advocacy, information and referral, peer support, personal care (CDS and In-Home), independent living skills, assistive technology, community access, home modifications, transitions and youth services. We are part of a national network of CILs serving eight counties in Southwest Missouri including Christian, Dallas, Greene, Lawrence, Polk, Stone, Taney and Webster.

Member Duties : 1. Research and identify potential funding sources by identifying and researching grants specific to the needs to empower: abilities. 2. Develop and maintains relationships with potential sponsors and donors throughout the community. 3. Develop and maintain a donor database which includes a log of any contacts made with potential donors and sponsors. 4. Oversee data entry and gift acknowledgment activities. Coordinate presentations to organizations, trade shows, fairs and businesses on the mission and needs of empower: abilities. 5. Develop and implement annual fundraising plan that meets the financial needs of empower: abilities. 6. Works with volunteers and staff to organize and implement successful fundraising drives and events. 7. Produce quality reports which demonstrate the anti-poverty and capacity building work being accomplished during your service term.
