Out Wayne Community Development Coordinator VISTA
 
 
 
Part of the Accelerate WV program of the ACT Now Coalition's Community Business Resilience Initiative (CBRI), the town of Wayne, WV has been hard at work for the past year and a half building resilience in their community. Access WV, a key partner in the Accelerate program, is seeking an AmeriCorpsVISTA member to help continue the momentum Wayne is currently experiencing as a result of Accelerate WV. Access WV believes that through leveraging Wayne's natural assets, including farmland, and preserving the communitiy's culture, they can use the knowledge, skills and wisdom of generations past to bring about a brighter future as well as economic prosperity. This project will harness outdoor recreation and ecotourism assets to kickstart resilient economic development in Wayne. The member who fills this role will be a dynamic, motivated individual who is community-minded and a big-picture thinker.

Member Duties : The member who fills this role will be tasked with activities including, but not limited to: Building capacity in the project management of Access WV and Accelerate Wayne's strategic initiatives Developing and strengthening relationships with community partners and stakeholders, such as the local Economic Development Authority, the Convention and Visitors Bureau, the County Commission and more Creating a strategy to promote tourism assets of Wayne County, WV Researching and pursuing funding opportunities for projecs Creating and implementing a social media strategy The site is looking for applicants who have skills in social media and digital marketing.
