The ICHD AmeriCorps VISTA Program focuses on building the capacity of Ingham County organizations in the areas of education, economic opportunity, and access to care. The program emphasizes the importance of professional development and personal growth, while creating an exceptional AmeriCorps VISTA experience for our members during the service term. We provide monthly professional development opportunities to VISTA members and our site supervisors provide mentoring to their members. Members become a part of the Greater Lansing community, learn skills relevant to their future careers, and build networks to last a lifetime!

Member Duties : Positions begin JANUARY 2025! RDC AmeriCorps members will organize annual fundraisers for the RDC to help support ESL programs and youth programs, and create a donor tracking system. They will also conduct outreach to local community partners to build a welcoming community to newcomers, and share newcomer stories through newsletters and social media posts. Main duties include recruiting and managing volunteers, as well as creating sustainable volunteer training and onboarding policies and procedures; and more tasks built around your interests!
